As I mentioned in another thread right now: the relevant tidbit here isn’t the “pay periodically” one, but the “your system is in someone else’s computer” one.

This feels like Micro$oft will push manufacturers to lock down their systems so you can’t install another operating system. I bet it’ll mean cheaper to buy up front prebuilt systems with so you’ll be locked into their ecosystem.
