I recently added a collar and bought some gold chains and whatnot to make it a bit more regal. Also, pardon the shitty photoshop.
Awesome work!
Thanks!
Dude the progress on this costume has been fun to watch! It looks legit AF!!!
Thank you! I’ve actually made some adjustments since this photo. Added some fur to the shoulders and around the neck, also some gold jewelry to give it more kingly vibes.
Exceptional work! It’s been super fun to see the progression of the costume, and the final result is certainly worth the wait.
Thank you!
I have no idea who this ex-king is, but that is a badass costume.
Well done.
He is my own character. He was a soldier, later knighted after some heroic deeds. He helped save his kingdom and realm from an evil. The king died in the final battle, and due to his status, prominence and skill as a leader and general good nature he was made king of this kingdom. He became corrupted by his own power, taking the peoples admiration and worship too far and actually seeing himself as a god. He started abusing his power, and the people did not want to risk another evil like the one previously defeated. The people overthrew him and locked him up in a darkest deep dungeon to rot. Some indescernable amount of time later he is resurrected for reasons. However, it was botched, leaving him part skeletal and part bloated corpse (that last bit is mostly to excuse an overweight skeleton lmao, might omit that part when I lose weight). So yeahhhhh. I created this character and I’m using a fantasy novels universe my brother was writing ages ago to place his character and build his backstory.
Sorry for the wall, but now you have some idea!
Look really cool man. Is this a character from a book or series or something? Duckduckgo doesn’t t turn up much.
This is my own character I created.
Bra fucking vo, that looks insane.
I’me pretty happy with it.
No offense. But this just looks like digital art.
Not something that you bought/made and put on.
I was about to say, I would like to see behind the scenes of this costume. Not because I don’t believe OP, but because I love seeing how cool things are made and not just the perfectly manicured end products.
But then I went on their profile, and he delivers. This dude has some rather cool pics about this costume elsewhere.
Go check out his profile. There’s more on there. :)
I’ll take that as a compliment, but here ya go.
Oh snap! OP delivers =D
Amazing work!
Thank you!
Can you post an unedited photo so we can see what it actually looks like?
Here ya go.
This costume looks like it could’ve come straight out of Elden Ring. Only suggestion I’d give seeing the unedited photo is that i feel like the patina on the headpiece has a much starker contrast between the corroded green and the more copper-ish/bronz-y areas. I think if the bronze looked more dull and faded as well would probably blend a bit better.
Please don’t take that the wrong way, overall it’s still a kick ass costume, just some small thoughts i had that might help if you make anything else in this style down the road :)
I will say it looks MUCH better in person. I was standing right infront of a very warm/yellow light, so it’s definitely throwing the color off.
Why is only this thread laggy?
This is sick.
Am I crazy or were you also posting updates to the pmw subreddit a few weeks ago?
Yeah! That was me!
Hell yeah dude, cool to see another wubcub on lemmy
Reminds me of the cover art for At The Throne of Judgment’s last single, Goblin Kaiser:
That’s so dope. Time to start a metal band and preform in that costume
Lol playing the piano with gloves on is not fun lol.
Mayhem is quaking in their boots
Took me a second to realize that was a traditional halo, really cool idea.
Is that a historical deep cut these days? I feel like it shouldn’t be, but I’m also a big nerd with opinions on the Carolingians.
The crown is a replica of the crown from The Green Knight. I can’t take credit for thay ingenious costume design. But I really wanted to use it in my own costume.
Man, the green knight was a weird movie, but gorgeous.
It really was. Steeped in symbolism and metaphors.
