It’s crazy how well PS2 games can hold up today when cleaned up using some texture filters. I played through Silent Hill 2 recently in anticipation of the remake, and it looked surprisingly good still.
I just started playing around with emulation on my steam deck. Any tips for setting up these texture filters for a noob? Which emulator are you using?
I use PCSX and just the default filtering options.
GameCube, too
I had tried to play DQ8 with hi-def textures via my Steam Deck but it just didn’t run very well. Has that since changed?
How is this a meme? lol
Did you upscale?
Call me crazy but I think the top one looks better. The art style loses something in the bottom. The character and the background blend into each other two much, there’s line work outlining the character model that gets lost.
Good thing you can choose not to increase the resolution. I am a sucker for older games running on modern resolutions. Hell even those 3D Pokémon games from the 3ds look great in 4k.
I wasn’t implying that you shouldn’t be able to. Just sharing my opinion on this particular example.
Pokemmo nails this. Even fire red looks fantastic at 165hz 1440p.
Is there a “lostlemmings” ?
