damn that difference is as big as the Himalayas vs the Hermalayas
That explains a lot. I was so confused when on the news they showed India with heatwaves and also having heavy rains at the same time.
Must be some gnarly thunderstorms in the middle

Looks similar to https://www.ventusky.com/
What a stark difference. Looks like the only place in the world it’s got a cold pocket like that amidst hot.
Cool-looking app. Nice tip!
I looked in this area today and found a spot where one side had 44°C and the valley on the other side had -1°C. 🔥⚖️🧊 Wild.
I heard Zanda is lovely this time of year lovely 😍
Flip it upside down and it looks like a thermal map of my two story home in summer.
Oh so India is North of China in your home? Cool cool. Well, hot then cool.
If we just got rid of the Himalayas everything would even out! /s
I am now accepting donations for a project to flatten the Himalayas the material gained from the mountains will be used as land reclamation for at risk comunities. Let’s Go people, together we can move mountains!
Data is pretty.

Yes, thank you for pointing out exactly what is happening
Seeing said thing actually on a map you could say is… mildly interesting
What I get from this is that the most populous country in the world has essentially unliveable temperatures. And this is only the early parts of global warming. Scary times ahead.
Global warming affects every region of the planet and in essence means irregular weather. AFAIK extreme winds in Canada and extreme cold in USA were attributed to global warming.
Also FYI, the Indian planes are one of the most fertile planes on the planet, that’s why its able to support so many people for 1000s of years.
Global warming might affect Indian subcontinent more than other regions (im not a scientist) but I’ve only read otherwise.
I live in a region of the US that now gets semi-regular polar winds most years giving us a week of -40 degree weather. It’s an exillerating change of pace to brave such extreme cold, but also extremely concerning to consider what else climate change has in store in the coming decades and centuries
Its a map of future heatstroke and kidney disease as humans sweat out all their water tryin to cool off. Probably a lot of human suffering and migration in the near future.
I’ve been using maps like these to figure out where its safe to live and also for retirement planning.
Delhi temperature hits 52.9C, shattering India’s national record
This guy RETIRES
Read (or listen to) the first chapter of Ministry for the Future by Kim Stanley Robinson.
This is fine says the naysayers of global warming. Expect the inevitable, more death and war from forced migration.
Thanks for cutting the legend of the map.
I checked on my phone, green is 10, yellow is 20, orange is 30, burnt orange is 40. I know that’s not a great measure but currently walking so if someone could screenshot the legend that would be coolio.
Translation to freedom unit? Asking for a friend.
Here ya go
0 is freezing (32).
10 is cold (50).
20 is nice (68).
30 is hot (86).Each ten degrees Celsius is 18 degrees Fahrenheit.
I feel so much sorry for people who have to work outside in 45° C.
