The suggested use for anyone not bothering to look this up is to deodorize gas and stool but it’s suggested use is for people with colostomy or exposed stomas where smelly gas and stool is a constantly expelled or people with chronic gas and liquid stool.

Climate change is probably the most clearly a “big fucking issue” for mankind. I’m fully aware it’s going to kill a huge portion of the population before the end of this century and that I’m probably going to be one of them. I don’t expect to retire or have any kind of life beyond MAYBE 60 because we’ll be locked in famine wars and constant civil unrest.
The rise of global fascism and it’s persecution of “the other” or “enemies of the state” as seen in the USA, Israel, China, Russia, North Korea, Afghanistan, Pakistan, The Philippines, and many South American and African nations is another major issue that’s being largely ignored and/or actively progressed by an alarming number of people today. Is another thing that is being underplayed in the media and it going to ADD TO the major global instability that climate change is going to cause.
OP is in their mid-40s. They’re probably going to be one of the last generations to live in the golden age of humanity’s leisure. Everyone else is going to live their life starving and fighting for a seat at the table or dying in wars.
My point is- people 45 and up can afford to bury their heads about all of those things because they’ll never have to worry about it getting cut off before they’re ready to pull it out.

I agree with you that the media is exaggerating and over reporting on negative things. That’s how they make money. The loss of the subscription model and the 24hr News cycle really hurt objective reporting that’s why I said I don’t blame you or OP for “head in the sanding it”.

Yes but evenso site wide changes still affected old reddit. NSFW subs were still removed from r/all and the sponsored content was still there too. Not to mention all the bots and spam. I was also primarily a mobile user so killing Apollo was the end for me.
I know it never left for PC and I used it over there but I was mostly a mobile user and killing Apollo destroyed my desire for reddit.
I was also not a fan of some of the changes that affected everything like removing NSFW from r/all.
I went to Reddit from Digg during the great migration and I didn’t look back. The Ads and format change were a huge misstep on their part. I honestly would have left Reddit when they went to New Reddit if we would have had Lemmy back then.
I really like Lemmy better than new reddit because scrolling the front page reminds me of 2010-2016 Reddit. I hated when they added ADS and removed the NSFW subs from the front page. Everything about NEW Reddit sucked.
Lemmy fixed new reddit and I ain’t going back.
I was going to say exactly this. I almost bought 2020 tix at the highest ticket price BECAUSE of the charity. They even had the tix labeled as non-transferable to prevent scalping.
They also haven’t performed regularly since the early 2000s so it’s not like they’ve been making money hand over fist for 20yrs either.
I didn’t buy tix cause this was March 2020 and the world was already talking about shutting down.
The Machine they are raging against is most likely capitalism and political BUT it may have also been their first tour van.
I searched for husavara images once because we were watching an old b sci-fi movie where they dressed one up with crappy “prosthetics” but didn’t paint it and I wanted to prove that’s what it was.
I got huskavara and John Deere ads all over my socials pretty much exclusively the next day and extremely frequently for a week afterwards. There’s just no way those were there prior to that search. I turned off targeted ads and never saw them again.
