sleep helps to defrag memory,
I’ve also heard on the net that resources such as the Arch wiki can help correct some instances of data gaps/corruption
Losing Naomi Wu to the CCP was a catastrophic loss to the FOSS community, I remember that she once went directly to confront a company (I think located in China) to demand for the release of their modified version of a copyleft software
I hope she’s still alive and doing well
A barchart might be better as the comparison of instances with the most subscribed accounts doesn’t mean much I feel
we have some users that register but are inactive and/or are infrequently active which could be a sign of lurkers or bots but empty accounts don’t mean much when it comes to the health of an instance.
However; if we look at each community’s active monthly and daily users it can tell another story and that data compared against Reddit’s could be useful for anyone seeking alternatives
I’m rambling with little sleep but hopefully what I’ve said make a little bit of sense
haven’t watched the video yet
I’m curious if they’ve pulled off their magic again
Edit:
Intel what the hell
If Intel gets sued to extinction, anyone who’s purchased an Intel 13/14th gen might become screwed without recourse when it comes to CPU support/remediation, as such:
Intel’s egregious predatory manipulative actions has harmed everyone as the hardware ecosystem is such a vital and integrated part of modern society.
Intel, instead of “chopping wood”, perhaps you might want to focus on getting a haircut, your old bangs clearly show split hairs.
If anyone has any recourse/accountability suggestions for Intel owners in other regions/countries please comment below
I’m going to try and figure out if there’s anything similar to the FTC for Canadians
that is true but for beginners with a $1000 budget who ask about buying laptops to host services
one thing I forgot to mention is that it also heavily depends on an individual’s use cases, restrictions, and preferences
that is definitely true however the added benefit is typically a longer warranty range as buying a laptop would typically mean that all components would be sold under a single flat warranty cycle/deadline
plus even if your computer is borked, you can still take it into a microcenter, memoryexpress, brick-and-mortor retailer to have their technicians figure it out the problem for a cost
I often have these time vs cost tradeoff discussions with my customers after they’ve been informed on the basics
with a $1000 budget they might want to consider building a computer as desktops usually provide better performance/per cost rather than buying a $1000 laptop
building is incredibly easy as there’s a plethora of tutorial vids online and you’re less likely to get screwed over by an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) or retailer
the fediverse here also has an active community for support !buildapc@lemmy.world
por qué no los dos?
that is 100% true👍
I just saw a good opportunity to use the meme here so I took it😆
depends on your return window,
if you have a chance to refund both your CPU and mobo I’d personally recommend taking it and waiting to see what Intel does if you want to buy Intel’s future processors, you’d also get the option to take a look at AMD’s lineup as well
if you’re outside the return window for both it might still be worth refunding the CPU and seeing if you’d be able to swap the mobo with an AMD equivalent by contacting your board maker [Asus, MSI, Asrock, Gigabyte, NZXT, etc), if they say no then you still have the option to sell as a new board as it sounds like you were on the cusp of the build phase
Always has been
Thinking about this situation again and I’m only just realizing the ripple effects this might have on the company’s future and the future CPU ecosystem
I have to wonder if Intel realizes that they swam out to the ocean with no plan in mind
Please spoiler warning/gate your comment as it’s quite gory and can be triggering for some if not most users

yup and for disambiguation purposes,
there’s also the option to ask users directly for help too✨
it’s not offensive,
anyways thanks!
For new Linux users a good start would be YouTube vids
after that I’d personally recommend the Arch Linux Wiki as it’s a well regarded and well known encyclopedia for anything you’d need/want to know about most Linux related things
beyond the Arch Linux wiki, you’d probably be looking at the Linux kernel documentation or Gentoo’s docs/wiki
I recently learned that Strawberry has native built-in streaming capabilities
