    You are doing this all wrong

    If you are trying to use more than 50 devices you need to rethink your setup. USB isn’t designed for that.

      Citation please? The spec is fine with it, its just Intel that put in artificial limitations.

        A glass may have a spec that allows it to be filled to the brim. Doesn’t mean it’s a good idea, especially when you want to run up stairs with it.

        Your going to spill water everywhere.

        I never said it wasn’t possible. It just is not a good idea.

        You want proper SAS as that is a interface that is designed to talk to drives. USB is not optimized for that and it comes with some overhead. The biggest issue with USB is that the addressing is easy to screw up. Devices may disconnect and reconnect at random which is normally part of USB. However, this will cause ZFS to panic as it sees this as a hardware problem.
