Lemmy being decentralized doesn’t make it very search engine friendly.
Because it’s federated across multiple instances, none of them reach a critical mass big enough / trusted to be constantly at the top of results.
Duplicated content across instances can be flagged as spammy content.
I recently had a very specific issue with KDE and the first and actually helpful result was a thread from a Lemmy instance. Never had this happen before, but it’s a good sign.

It would not be on top of Google regardless, because it isn’t paying for the ad slot there.
