I love bananas. I have tried breaking free many times, and failed. They’re set to be about half the price of apples, always, direct from the company. The Chiquita banana corporation also funded union-busting activities for those that were collecting the bananas, and by union busting I mean they paid a paramilitary force to terrorize farmers and farmhands back into poor working conditions. They also have a long history of destabilizing local economies and governments to ensure their superiority in the region.
