So unpopular opinion but dude was an asshole. Not once have I read about him and Save the Manatee. This guy personally wrestled it away from The Florida Audubon Society in the early 90’s so he could run it. He hired fake protestors for the news. Just an asshole… coming from an actual Floridian.
Spent time in Florida after Katrina and he apparently payed out employees relief checks pretty fast before FEMA arrived. Then he also took more than he was owed and didn’t hire people back… So definitely a mixed bag of dicks. Lol. There’s a very short list of Floridian businessmen that I’d put on my “good dudes” list.
