    Is this normal? I take it you dont normally have to take this many readings in order to administer daily?

      I had a cat with diabetes and they never even gave me a tester… just said 1 unit of Lantus a day.

        I bought one myself. He’s been on Vetsulin for 3 months and still drinking water like crazy. I’ve heard Lantus is better but I have a vial of Vetsulin to use up so I want to better monitor him.

          I see, it seems to be “porcine insulin zinc suspension”, which I think used to be used in humans but isn’t any longer. I thought perhaps it might be Levemir or NPH. Lantus is definitely pretty good… not just for cats, I have T1 so I’ve tried various insulins. It’s quite stable over 24 hours.

      It was super high to start with. I’ve read Vetsulin only lasts 8 hours and I wanted to see how it changes throughout the day. Usually prick him before the shot to get an idea of how much to give him.
