Honestly probably the best written post I’ve seen on Lemmy.

I’m still not truly convinced it’s not some kind of meme/ weird in-joke that I just don’t get. Like, that just seems so obviously unsanitary and with no obvious appeal that I just cannot accept that it can be something that more than a extremely tiny fraction of people actually do

I feel the exact same way.

I don’t know anyone who beats about it IRL, and I couldn’t think of a bigger turnoff.

I’m sure it happens, but it’s gotta be a very very small percentage of people.

The whole point of the linked post is that it’s always unsanitary. If you trust someone who claims to be a nurse on the Internet.

The one thing I noticed missing is the time it takes for bacteria to reach harmful levels. I am by no means a nurse, or have any knowledge on that subject. I would only imagine that removing 99% with soaps, cleaning, and being quick about eating ass reduces your chance of sickness by a lot.

They only really covered STIs. But there’s a huge range of things in your mouth. Colds and flus are big ones obviously. But also things like mono etc.

Any exchange of fluids is a risk. Just have to be as clean as possible and choose your partners well.

In that second comment they talk about the normal stuff that comes with oral/vaginal and how it’s not like what’s in/around the butt. STIs are called out as an exception, they aren’t what the comment is really about.

The jist is that you can get some temporary inconvenience with a new partner, but it’s unlikely to be anything serious.

Any house with a toilet is covered in a micro layer of shit particles so most likely.

Is your ass always covered in shit? Maybe wash more dude.

Again people do that to each other’s mouths which have way more bacteria and decaying food in it.

That is still another level than actual shit though. No one argues mouths are hygenic. But to compare it to your butthole, I mean, no. There is a reason stuff like handwashing or flushable toilets increased life expectancy quite a bit, people stopped getting sick from all the stuff that comes out of our shit.

It’s definitely not a meme. About half my partners have wanted it done to them, wanted to do it to me, or both. It’s feels good.
