Bayern had hoped to agree a deal for the England skipper but it is understood the two sides remain apart in their valuation of the 30-year-old.

The Bundesliga champions had suggested if their bid for Kane was unsuccessful on this occasion they would move on to other transfer targets.

However, with over three weeks of the transfer window left, it remains to be seen whether that is the case.

I guess at this point I’m just curious what the price that Levy is asking for him is.

Even if he’s part of a good run with us this year, it’s gonna be hard to end top four… does he even re-sign with us or just leave free?

I am guessing it’s in the range of £100-125m. Bayern seem to have overplayed their hand a bit, thinking that Levy would feel the need to sell regardless of price, and coming in with multiple bids under the asking price. I wouldn’t be shocked if they blink and pay up, but it seems like Levy may be content to keep him. If he goes for free next year, it’s a lot of potential revenue lost, but Spurs are in fine financial shape (it’s not a Barca situation). And Levy seems to think that there’s some small chance that he stays & signs a new contract, if the year with Ange goes well and he likes the direction of the team. Seems remote to me unless Spurs win the league or something absurd like that happens.

I don’t think Ange will want to build a team around someone who is likely off next year, so he might end up slightly sidelined. Ange isn’t there for one year of glory, he’ll be thinking about the following seasons.

I think he’ll play like normal. It would be pretty insane to pass up the Bayern offers and then sit Kane for the year. That would (a) guarantee that he leaves next year, eliminating any small hope that he stays, and (b) mean that you’re getting no value for Kane while also getting none of the reward that you would have gotten by selling him now.

What is Levy playing here? Does Kane not pushing at all for this move?

As a Bayern supporter, I just wish we would move on. Offered what we thought was fair and still not biting. Call it a loss and move on before the season starts.

Might as well give Tel the time. Considering our keeper situation, we’re not doing anything this season anyway. If we finish top 6 in the BuLi, it will be a good ending.
