You may come across one you just might like. They change on a regular basis.

Edit for rule #2 - Trending communities show you new/active communities in the instance you are browsing from the instance’s home page. Example: My account lives on lemmy.world, but if I visit lemm.ee I will be able to see that instance’s newest and/or most active communities. Just another way to explore Lemmy and the fediverse from another noobie user learning things as I go along. :) Cheers!

If you are using the web version of Lemmy, there should be a box in the upper part of the home page. Click the + to expand it.

Edit: found it! It’s already open in the top right-hand side of the page on the instance home page.

Oh, in the current instance. That makes sense I guess, I’m using a mostly private one. Was hoping there’s a universal trending community overview.

I tend to instance hop as I am exploring Lemmy and I find them not as new or empty on less populated instances.

Most of the time they are empty with no posts and just recently been created. Trending should only consider communities with greater than zero posts.

Agreed. Maybe that’s something the devs can update/fix later seeing it’s not an urgent matter. Still, just another way to quickly find potential new communities. Cheers!
