I see a lot of chat but nothing else.

If lemmy works now, use it. If the devs/admins implement weird shit, stop using it. Life ain’t that complicated.

I personally moved from lemmy.world because I don’t like their defederation policy. I also block all beehaw communities because I don’t think they’re acting in the interest of the lemmyverse. You don’t have to agree with any of that, but that’s the beauty of self-agency. Join whatver instance you want, block whatever you want, hell, use lemmy or kbin only if you agree with its policies.

So much anger, your post is hard to read. What instances’ admins are you talking about, and what happened?

I’ve rarely seen an admin, only occasionally in sticky announcement type posts, talking about stuff like software updates and such.

Okay… which Lemmy admins? The ones from which Lemmy instance? Are you talking on general grounds, on specific admins, or did you just assume that there are global admins here? The very point of the platform is that, if you don’t like how a certain instance runs (this includes the admins!), you can hop into another instance.

As far as I know, Lemmy itself doesn’t even track karma, only punctuation for each piece of content. At most you have a few phone applications figuring out your personal karma by adding the punctuation of your stuff there.

If this system popped up, it would be something that the developers did. Not “the admins”. And AFAIK they don’t plan to, but correct me if I’m wrong.

Your screenshots show some “terrinefirex2” user proposing minimum karma to post. Is that user even an admin? If yes, of which instance?

I just wanted to point that out too. These screenshots have TheDude saying he doesn’t want a minimum of karma to post and others are just random out of context screenshots.

Terrinefirex never confirmed he was an admin. He seemed to be there only to bash Lemmy world and when asked what his instance was he didn’t want to say because “fear of retaliation”. Which made us think it was exploding heads or worse.

OP just had her account banned and now created a new one for some drama.

I recognize the font in those screenshots. An exploding head user called Megan used the same. They are easy to recognize since they only had like 10 active people before the instance shut down.

IMO this belongs somewhere else, like !lemmy@lemmy.ml or something.

    I have a few questions:

    • What is your agenda?
    • What change(s) are you expecting by showing us this?
    • What takeaways am I expected to pull from those screenshots?
    • Can anyone join the matrix chat? If so, how can we be assured the participants are actually admins?

Also, as always, you are free to join any instance you like, or create your own.

Criticising how other admins choose to run their instance, maintained by themselves & volunteers with their own time, for their own reasons out of their own goodwill, does not make sense when Lemmy is FOSS software, and the fediverse is open.

I am sensing you got banned from something for some reason. I also believe you put files in some sort of catbox - maybe.
