    Definitely the behavior of a modern, democratic state. Wouldn’t want any of those people in the open-air prison totally legitimate territory talking to the outside world, would we?

      I get you’re being sarcastic, but even they can’t decide on what Gaza is. One minute it’s for all intents and purposes an Israeli territory, but when it’s convenient it’s suddenly an independent nation.

    Communications can collapse for any number of reasons. Infrastructure can fail. If I had to guess, it’s a Central Office electrical failure and/or someone to fix it. BTW, in the US we have not only battery backup but redundant big ass generators to guard against this possibility. On the whole, I’d think Israel would want the intelligence from an active communications network than not.
