My understanding is that Biden is trying to be the angel on Israel’s shoulder because if he condemns them publicly then he loses the political capital to influence them at all. It’s a kind of good cop/bad cop routine on an international scale.

I don’t buy it. If he stops funding Israel, Israel won’t have shit left to attack Palestine with.

That’s not correct. Israel is the 9th largest weapons exporter in the world. They can produce most of the weapons they are getting from America themselves, as well as a number of indigenous arms that you can’t get anywhere else. They have in fact entire ammunition factories ready to go online within days, just in case they need them. Getting aid from the US is however much cheaper for them (of course) - and it also buys America not insignificant influence over Israel and access to Israel’s high-tech weaponry, like the Iron Dome, Trophy and various drones, all of which are extensively used by US forces, as well as other close allies of Israel. That’s on top of all of the civilian research and cooperation, which is not insignificant either.

And how do you think they got to that stage?? Countries like the US has been funding them for decades

Are you going to become a single-issue voter over this or are you willing to accept the fact that there is no politician who is perfect for you?

This isn’t about plastic straws or some other inconsequential deal, it’s about a fucking genocide. Jesus christ dude

If there was ever going to be a single issue to vote on, genocide should probably be it.

I think most would consider democracy to be the single issue to vote on. When one candidate has repeatedly said he’d be a dictator “for one day, and then stop” and actively argues in court that the position he’s running for is immune to the rule of law, I’m voting in whatever way is most likely to result in his defeat. As much as I complain about the candidates and the shitty voting system, I cannot compromise on the right to vote.

So your literal argument is that if someone said, “I’ll end democracy in the US, but won’t hurt anyone”, and another candidate said, “I won’t end democracy in the US, but I’m going to conduct a genocide”, you would vote for the genocider? That’s pretty wild.

Currently, if I don’t vote for Biden, I will probably not vote for anyone at the presidential level, or do a write-in.
