Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., says Israel is about to commit “crimes against humanity” and on Tuesday urged the International Criminal Court to arrest Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
About to? They already did!
Totally. Maybe something like have been doing for decades would be closer to reality.
Totally.
The one who downvoted maybe should get robbed of their house and had some relative killed, to gain some perspective.
Take a chill pill. I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy what the Palestinians are going though.
These are times that don’t invite much chill… I’m sorry, I’m glad that you’re so nice, but I would wish it on those perpretrating those atrocities.
Looks like this article came out shortly before they invaded Rafah and that’s what she was talking about in specific.
Rashida Tlaib is fully aware of Israel’s crimes. She is Palestinian-American.
Again. And again.
Oh yeah, she talked about that, too. “About to” refered to Rafah and was used to instill a sense of urgency in their actions
I’m actually heartened to see an American rep say this. I’m not hopeful, but i am heartened.
Now my cynical side heard me feeling ok about something and he is telling me to look for her career to be over now. He says he’ll betcha anything she gets primaried out of her spot by the DNC next election at the latest.
I dunno, he seems like a nice guy. /s
Fuck that dude. Genocidal shit.

The ICC doesn’t have police, they rely on the coalition who supports them to enforce anything. So I think she’s saying that like France or someone needs to arrest him, which of course is never going to happen
Slobodan Milošević Immediately pops into mind.
Not sure about any more recent off the top of my head.
Milosevic’s trial was also in Hague but by a different court. See:
Comparing the ICTY and the ICC: Some Procedural and Substantive Issues
In practice, an ICC conviction is more about diplomatic isolation and making it impossible for the suspects to enter countries party to it. I’d say that even German politicians may rethink their stance on Israel and its leadership if this goes through with a conviction.
Great question, hadn’t thought about it this way.
Well it looks there is a list of people detained by the International Criminal Court, not too sure what their positions or titles were tho.
