Only Biden didn’t say in his election campaign that he would lower gas prices, where this orange turd made it a main theme.

Trumps actions have directly impacted this, though. He loudly and proudly halted efforts to get bird flu under control and his tariffs will absolutely raw-fuck the entire country in a million ways including when it comes to the prices of gas because he’s literally put a tariff on it.

This isn’t complicated, keep up or shut up.

Eggs are about $4.50 near Charlotte, NC for the cheapest dozen in budget stores like Aldi as of a few days ago. About 6 months ago they were closer to $1.35, so this is a massive increase for us even if it’s cheap compared to other parts of the country.

$8/dozen in Chicago burbs. Costco is cheaper ($7/18), but they’re sold out at least where I am.

Normal eggs are $4/doz for me, too. I see that box labeled ‘cage-free’ with ‘organic’ & ‘pasture raised’ nearby. Those are super bougie eggs, and I think they’re around $10/doz where I shop (and have been for years).

On the original thread this picture came from, people were talking about a new law that went into effect in January in Colorado only allowing certified cage-free eggs to be sold statewide. It seems that’s behind the price on this single brand of eggs. Would be interested to see how all the other egg prices on that shelf compare

In NC at aldi, cage free eggs are $4.50/do. and free range eggs are $5.30/do.

I get that price are regional, but there’s got to be another factor for why the price is double what I pay for pasture raised eggs.

Because in Colorado, they can’t sell the cheap eggs laid by chickens packed in cages, so the demand for the expensive eggs has gone up significantly, driving up prices. Also the cost of living in many parts of Colorado is higher than North Carolina.
