In the US I’ve never met anyone that uses WhatsApp. I think this is because texting was free for everyone here for a long time before it came out, so there was no real reason to move to a messaging app over what was already built in and free.

So, just buy property and sell it for an inflated value in the near future. Repeat forever. Sounds like an amazing plan. What reason could someone possibly have for not doing this? Can anyone think of one?
Also, the idea that real estate is required to go up in value no matter what is sort of insane.
Very good chance it will be crypto related.
An option is fine, but please don’t get rid of it. I wouldn’t want to go back and forth between modes just to see certain info.
Compared to Meta, all other instances are small.
Threads is basically a new feature of Instagram, they don’t even talk about it as something that is distinct from it.
It happened at my work the other day. There was a popup with a not so obvious option that sets it back to your default browser.
Same here and also using Liftoff.
I will just downvote and move on with things that I don’t really want to see in a community like low effort posts. Also, if there is already a good response on why some post is wrong I will just add votes since adding my own reply doesn’t add much.
Vanced distributed a modified Youtube apk which infringed on Google’s intellectual property rights. ReVanced is on much stronger legal ground since they only distribute their own software, the manager and patcher, and the patches to the Youtube apk. AFAIK the three strikes policy has to do with how ads are blocked on the youtube website so I guess we will have to wait and see.
There is a new project, ReVanced. They only provide patches so can’t really be shut down by Google.
This just means that users on lemmy.world will see nothing from lemmit.online. Personally I blocked the main bot that was making all the posts so I at least don’t see all the spam from it.
I keep blocking every community and bot I find doing this.
I’d like a hide post button. I sometimes want to hide posts, but not usually ones I’ve interacted with.
For instances that are mostly for discussion, its pretty pointless to stay subscribed.
If people want to troll them they will just join another open signup federated instance. I can see them just defederating with everyone that has open signups.
Its training data had a lot of code in it. It does the same thing with code that it does with any other text, predict the next token given the previous tokens.
