So what is the solution when people are dying due to the bigotry and regressive policies pushed by these goons? Ignore them wholesale and fight the police/national guard? Place a worthless vote in a system ruled by corruption? Give yourself a lobotomy with a handgun? Seriously. What is the peaceful solution here? I’m genuinely curious what you think will solve this problem.

People who aren’t affected by the active suppression of women’s healthcare, the lack of social services, and the bigotry targeted at several groups don’t seem to understand that allowing this to go unchecked costs lives. It shouldn’t be something that is solely the burden of ordinary people to bear, and it shouldn’t be expected that people will just sit down and patiently wait to die when the state decides it’s their turn.

I’m all but certain this comment will be removed, but I’m not going to pretend that peaceful protest or voting is going to solve these issues anymore. It’s been made abundantly clear that neither of these things have made any positive change to American society since at least 2016. I’m sure many people would argue that it’s been this way for far longer.

none of that is going to matter if the US goes into civil war mode, where rights will become secondary. You appear to already be in civil war mode. Keep yelling about project 2025 from the rooftops and pointing out that the guy is a child rapist who should rot in jail until he dies for sedition, make people see that they are being swindled. But when you say someone deserves to die just because they were present at one of his rallies, you are no better than the goons terrorizing the people you care about.

I am on the brink of being unable to fulfill my basic survival needs because of the way this country is run. I’m at the point where I would have more hope in life if someone with a halfway-decent plan to fix the things I outlined above told me to do literally anything that would pull us away from the status quo. I’ll worry about being morally-superior when this is not the case. Until then, this is the truth I have arrived at.

…but you are aware that there is plenty of room for things to get even worse, right? I mean, if you already have absolutely nothing to lose…ok…I think I understand.

I’m at the point where one run of bad luck would leave me out on the street with 6 months to live. I have very few people in my life that are close to me, and none with the capacity to help me. I took tens of thousands of dollars of student debt and haven’t been able to get a job for months. None of the retail jobs here pay enough to make rent, let alone buy food. Social services are all but non-existent.

The society that currently exists seems to want me to die. Fuck all that.
