From the photos on twitter, it looks like it hit the only soccer field in town, landing between the field and the playground next to it. Hezbollah first claimed the attack, but now that there are 10 kids dead, and another several dozen kids injured they’ve backpedaled on it.

Hezbollah started limited attacks after Israel starting bombing Gaza. That was the level of engagement for many months. The understanding to keep it at that level changed with Israel escalating into Syria and Lebanon more and more, as well as the total annihilation they bring on Gaza.

You don’t need to look at all of the “conflict”. However the fundamentals are not complicated. Israel is a settler colonial state. It is found on and will be completed by genocide and ethnic cleansing of the population it is stealing the land from. This is what happened in what is today the US. This is what France tried in Algeria. And you find this again and again throughout human history.

You can engage in all sorts of debates as to who has shot first at what point, but this fundamental structure of the situation does not change.

Hezbollah made it clear they don’t want an escalation and the way to end the fighting and the border is by Israel ending the genocide in Gaza. The same goes for the regime in Iran, which had to respond to Israels assault on the embassy, but they did so in a matter to show force, without causing relevant damage. The one escalating is Netanyahu, who hopes to draw all of the west into a total war in the middle east, because the support for his genocide is dwindling.

It is the mindset of a schoolyard bully, that always picks fights, to then call on his bigger brother to defend him. It would be funny, if it wouldnt be a genocidal maniac, that is set to put the lives of hundreds of millions of people at risk.

As I said, you are in part driven by a simplified view of a complicated conflict. You might want to read up on some history to find out why jews chose to leave their homes in Russia, Europe, Northern-Africa and the Ottoman Empire to congregate in one small part of the latter, where some of them already lived. That’s a bit different from, let’s say, Morocco walking into the Western Sahara to plant their flag.

Iran is shipping munitions into Lebanon, which are then fired across the border on Israeli villages, but it’s only escalation if they shoot back?

That’s the mindset of the schoolyard bully that keeps spitting on someone and then says the other kid ‘escalated’ by kicking him in the nuts

You can’t go in and kill people and take their homes and land because Europe didn’t want to deal with their antisemitism. I love how every attempt to defend Israel through history always comes out worse. Imagine if I invited my family to come over and take my neighbor’s house because someone completely unrelated to my neighbors was mean to them. The existence of nations like the US and the fact that Israel has some of the most dual citizenships in the world disproves the fact that they need their own ethnostate anyway.

Why would you only talk about Europe and forget about Russia, the Middle East and Northern Africa?
