When the war between Russia and Ukraine first started in 2022 I was seeing reports of the Ukrainians trying to force Africans on student visas to stay in the country and fight. That’s when I decided that I don’t gaf about Ukraine.

I remember seeing similar reports, in other news-sources, at the time, BAD racism & prejudice…

These aren’t the only evidences that people have seen.

Poland was also apparently very-bad for anti-Black racism, in the news, of that time…

( not pretending that North America’s somehow clean or just or right, just … except for the Deep South, in the US, North America’s less aggressive that what was being-made-visible in East Europe, then…

Nothing’s going to make racism NOT self-perpetuate, except for “combined arms” dismantling it…

          that’s always been true.

Northern Ireland, Palestine, Rwanda, multiple angles in Asia, Indigenous people, all kinds of “racisms”, all the same ideology/identity root

& the same dismantling-through-shared-great-value-work being the only possible dismantling of it… )

So you sent three youtube videos…

You realise youtube is not a primary source? ABC would be, if they linked their actual article, which they don’t. So how’s about you offer a source that is 1. Verifiable and 2. is actually a primary source.

Not hard to find the evidence

Evidently it was, as you posted little more than anecdotes. And just in case you meant that as a gotcha, the onus of evidence is on you as you are the one making the claim.

I sent you news reports of the incidents and IT’S STILL NOT ENOUGH! What do you want? A scientific paper? What other sources are acceptable. Literally gave you news and it wasn’t Russian Television, it was western news sources. Not good enough.

Keep your head buried in the sand.

As someone of Ukrainian descent I do. My grandfather fled the Holomodor to arrive in Canada in the 1920s, where he was able to put down $20 and prove out a section of land in a 5 year period to earn title to that land. That said, I am glad you used an actual news source. When I first saw that they were youtube links I was already going, “Oh boy, here we go again with a raging conspiracy theorist,” but I was pleasantly surprised that it was DW News, an outlet that plays on my smarthub, along with CBC news.

That said, you have anything newer than 2 years ago? It would be interesting to learn if there has been any progress on this.

Sorry I don’t have anything newer than this. I have seen reports of Russia forcing migrants to fight on their side though. Another source. EDIT: This one is sketchy. One more source.

So far I haven’t seen anything recently about Ukraine forcing non-Ukrainians to fight for them. I think they allow volunteers. The reports from my previous post is from the beginning of the war, the links in this post is more recent and shows Russia doing it. It still puts a source taste in my mouth about the war. Imagine if any citizen from a European country staying in an African country and a war breaks out. The Africans try to make the European stay and fight for them. No one would have that!

I want to be clear. Russia is in the wrong for breaking their word to Ukraine when they invaded. In order for Ukraine to voluntarily surrender their nukes they were assured by Russia and the US that they wouldn’t be invaded by them. But I’m not an expert in geopolitics, I don’t know the real reason why Russia invaded, I don’t pretend to know. I just don’t want to be forced to be involved.
