Khalil al-Hayya, a deputy to Hamas Gaza leader Yahya Sinwar says the group's aim is not to run Gaza but to shake the Middle East and put Palestinian issue back in focus; Tells New York Times expected Arab world to join fight
Kicked out of power vs kicked out of the country is far far different. You seem to assume that I meant the latter.
If I’m not happy with a government… and have no way to vote in a different one, popularity would plummet… eventually Gaza population should desire to kick Hamas out of power no? How come Fatah or other factions can’t come in and take over? The only answer is that in Gaza, Hamas has sufficient popularity…
They funnel funds to Hamas through Qatar, and that’s exactly the point. Because Israel doesn’t want peace, they want land. How is this not blatantly obvious?
Is it OK for Canada to destroy more than half of your civilian infrastructure, displace half the population, and keep new england for itself while calling Americans subhuman beasts? Why or why not?
If USA supported HAMAS and didn’t oust them for 17 years… Yes. I’d be okay with Canada defending itself via violence. Quite literally would hope that Canada would do that… Especially
and keep new england for itself
As it would free those people from literal Terrorists.
calling Americans subhuman beasts?
Now where did I do that? Where did I call Palestinians subhuman?
Now, I don’t know… because the video just cuts off… But why aren’t we assuming that they’re describing Hamas?
Are you sure?
If my government was literal terrorist… Yes. As someone who actually deployed to Afghanistan. Yes. As someone who’s talked to people who’ve actually been in these situations. Yes.
It is a literal terrorist government though. It just terrorizes overseas instead of at home.
And how has our involvement in Afghanistan worked out for the people there? You can’t fight terrorism with terrorism. Personally, if I had a rocket blow up my house and half my family, I’m signing up for Hamas or make Hamas 2 the next day to fight the people that did that to me. It’s not a Hamas missile that did that to me.
If you can’t empathize with that position, the humiliation and slow suffering of the Palestinians, I don’t know what to tell you. I suspect it’s a deep seated racism but I’ll never know.
I never once defended the slaughter of anyone. I asked for the opinion of those who defend Palestinian action (Eg. Hamas… an official Palestinian government body that was and is sufficiently backed by the Gaza people). But now you’re just even more disappointing. Literally mincing words to fabricate your worldview. How sad.

Explicitly legitimized by the Israeli state as well. It’s policy to only recognize Hamas as the legitimate governing body.
If that’s your evidence that Israel supports Hamas, that’s a hard stretch.
I see nothing in here that legitimizes anything. Quite the opposite they would like both sides of the Palestinian government to implode.

Also, thought experiment

Oh not you, plenty of Israeli officials, but this one is what I’m specifically referring to. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZbPdR3E4hCk
Even bombing your house and killing half your family, and cutting off all your food and water? Are you sure?
Now, I don’t know… because the video just cuts off… But why aren’t we assuming that they’re describing Hamas?

The fact that that’s your assumption without knowing anything about me is disappointing.
I have a whole thread defending the slaughter of Palestinians because of an election 17 years ago, which isn’t nothing.
