Y’know, assault is generally defined as causing a person to fear for their safety. What these cops were doing was absolutely assault, bumping into someone’s shoulder is not. Plus it kinda looks like a football play the aide, Freeland and the cop were playing.
The cops are being bastards here but also fuck David Menzies lmao.

Maybe his history of being arrested by police at other political events played a part in heightened tensions here. Not saying being an intolerable asshole warrants automatic arrest.
Also for anyone unfamiliar with the Toronto Sun, it’s our version of the Daily Mail in the UK.
Is there one ‘* Sun’ newspaper that isn’t complete drivel? I swear of all the newspaper names, ones ending in sun are more often than not trash.
Do y’all publish topless pictures too?

He’s such a threat…they lay in wait 100 feet away, while he talks to the 2nd most powerful politician in canada, to trap him with bullshit accusations and charter violations.
Yeah I ain’t real familiar with him, but that’s irrelevant. This is straight up media intimidation, and the way that aide got out of the way so the cop could do his this thing leads to thoughts of co-ordination. If he was any real threat they wouldn’t have hung out 50 feet away waiting, they’re apparently her security detail.
I agree; no one should intimidatw yellow journalists
They never have to do this to CBC journalists, cause they don’t ask any questions at all.
