I don’t see downvotes, so those people are very much in the minority. In fact I basically have not seen that type of attitude on Lemmy, only people talking about it.

Frankly, any number of downvotes >0 counts as “heavily” for a comment as common-sense as that one. Sadistic psychopaths shouldn’t just be “in the minority;” they shouldn’t be tolerated at all.
do you have downvotes hidden somehow? nearly all comments critical of Israel get at least some downvotes. usuallly around five. for example: there’s not a comment here that doesn’t have at least one downvote
