Former President Trump continued to question the death of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny on Sunday, after being criticized for not explicitly blaming Russian President Vladimir Putin for what many Western leaders believe was an assassination.
Navalny died in a Russian prison last month, with little being known about his death until days later. President Biden and other Western leaders have said Putin is responsible, though Trump has so far avoided saying the same.
Funny, he wasn’t there when Obama was born, but he knew exactly what happened.
That’s actually a more general problem here. Or maybe indicator.
Trump will spout an opinion on everything, but at the exact point where his opinion actually matters and would have consequences, he dodges and claims ignorance.
What a coward.
I forgot that’s actual reality and it depresses me.
Sorry for reminding you.
I’ve been saying this for a while. Trump could have extorted billions out of the Saudis and/or Putin on Inauguration Day. Any kompromat Putin had would be denied by the CIA. Trump, having the bravery and street smarts of a lap dog, sold out the whole country for a piddling sum.
That’s an interesting take on it but the kompromat is overwhelming including financial beholdence and child rape evidence.
But yea, drumft is a scared little shit and thinking pootin put him in office and he could take him out and ruin him just as easily.
Which begs the question why didn’t and doesn’t the cia expose that drumft is a Russian asset?
It’s very tough in that spy v spy battle with pootin, but surely the cia could get the transcripts of their conversations if the tried. So why didn’t they?
Because Trump isn’t the only one who would be harmed. The CIA has a duty to protect the country and the office of the president. No one in the US government is going to reveal that a sitting president was an agent of a foreign power except in the presence of overwhelming public evidence.
Just how bad it really is will be declassified in 50 years or so, just like every other major, damaging government secret. National stability and credibility is just too important.
There’s an old saying.
“Never say ‘yes,’ when you can just wink, and never wink when you can just nod your head.”
For example, back in the 1980s when Trump first went to Moscow, they didn’t sit him in a room and officially swaer him into the KGB. They’d flatter him, push him subtly, and then let him do his thing.
