That’s Koolaid emergency exit
If you run into it fast enough it’ll turn back into an exit, magic!
The footprints on the floor coming out of the wall makes this look like some sort secret hidden room where you’ll find an armour upgrade or something. Run up to it and hit the use button.

Should hang a sign that says “Closed”
Some bloke put that sign up and went. “I don’t see anything wrong with this!”
It’s on the to-do list. You don’t need to remind them every six months!
Maybe just turn the arrow to point to the direction of the main door?
Well to be fair, it doesn’t say exit on the sign. It just says ‘you can run this way to find a white wall below this sign’ - which is technically correct.
TBF, the emergency exit is still there, you just can’t access it
