Why is this good news? I mean the guy is a dick but that technology is a joint effort of hundreds or even thousands of hard working engineers and workers. It also works. It gets internet to pretty much all the globe. This is a success on its own. I mean of course that pricing and fuck you moves by Elon tarnish it but under no circumstances should we celebrate the failure of such a technological accomplishment.

I for one don’t like the idea of filling the night sky with artificial stars that block the actual stars. This is already an issue and will only get worse as more companies try to capitalize on the ability to charge anyone around the planet for service.

Especially the whole SpaceX endeavor to me is quite the accomplishment (not his, the engineers).
Not to mention that non-functional satellites deorbiting is a major feature! Infinitely better than creating dead-zones for future satellites.

The ones which are lost are burnt up, there’s no long term danger from any satellite in LEO
