It’s distinctly fine nowadays. Old Edge was absolute garbage, modern one is a Microsoft version of Chrome. The problem is that I don’t want to swap one mega Corp for another, I want to have a good product. It’s very rarely going to be the best browser for any user, and if I were going to default to recommending one to non-tech users, I’d still rather just say Firefox.
I think we still have to give credit to edge for trying to modernize its ui and engine. The browser in itself is not so bad, maybe even good, it’s the reputation of explorer that is killing it, and the fact that it is forced down our throat. I’m still using brave though. And keep Firefox as a backup for some very precise website (like tf1max, which implemented an heavy regulation on vpns, adblockers and cookie regulator)
Firefox kinda fell off in recent years tbh. Used to use it for years before I switched off it. Used to be pretty reliable though so I get why you’d recommend it.
Also if you are using an OS that isn’t Windows, then obviously Edge isn’t going to be the right choice.
Sure, it’s “good”, but its simply a different flavor of the same corporate shit pie. Fuck Microsoft’s monopolistic tendencies, don’t use edge no matter how hard they beg.
I only use Edge for Bing Chat on desktop.
