The countries in question:
Source: Wikipedia lol
The list from english wikipedia says my country (Brazil) only recognised Palestine in 2010
But in portutugese wikipedia it is said we’ve recognised them since 1975.
I don’t know which one is right, so.
It seems that relations started in 1975, but formal recognition commenced in 2010:
https://www.gov.br/mre/en/subjects/bilateral-relations/all-countries/state-of-palestine
Where it shows the 1975?
I misunderstood the line that says “O Brasil se soma a uma lista de mais países que reconhecem o Estado Palestino,(…)Reconhecendo também a Organização para a Libertação da Palestina (OLP), desde 1975 como “legítima representante do povo palestino”.” as meaning we’ve recognised the state of Palestine officially since '75
Apparently, according to the govbr site OP linked in reply to me above, stuff is a bit more complicated than that but ye.
Maybe it’s the flag of Saddam Hussein’s Ba’ath party? Maybe that cartoon was openly defending the right for Iraq to get WMDs?
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arab_Socialist_Ba'ath_Party_–_Iraq_Region
“I’m Doug Dimmadome owner of the Dimsdale Dimadome, and I recognize the country of Palesdome, er, Palestine”
Damn Canadian liberals need to get with the times and recognize Palestine 🇵🇸
sigh guess I need to go write another letter to my MP
Now this is the kind of calling out we can get behind
Dammit Canada get your shit together and recognize Palestine
With how chunky the flags are it could just be Jordan
It’s possible, but even at that level of detail it would have been trivial to add a white dot and elongate the red triangle. I’m thinking they intended it to be Palestine.
I would like to add that it’s kinda rare for an United-stasian cartoon to put the Brazilian flag in a “bunch of world flags” scene. Damn, they went that far into putting it in the middle of the screen! That’s unusual!
(Mark my words, we will take over the world soon enough /jk)
In the movie Winter Kills (1979) John Huston’s character, before plummeting from a skyscraper to his death, he says to Jeff Bridges’ character:
You get out of this alive, son-
You get out of this alive.
Take our money out of the western world and put it in South America.
Oh!
Brazil. Ah!
Aah!
Brazil! They’re the next ones up!Also this movie is shockingly good, 10/10 recommend from me won’t spoil anything.
Why wouldn’t you. Already own like 25% of the American continent.
Corruption.
You know what’s funny
I watched a video saying how corruption helps a country grow faster. It’s a specific type of corruption though: rich people asking politicians to create laws and make certain things happen.
The bad news is that 99% of people won’t benefit. Insert Pikachu face if you will.
I think it was video # 4 of this series https://youtu.be/Bc1lVZ_Bi08?si=d_lmdCDepDjF2cSz
That’s such a Kissinger frame of mind.
Order with injustice over justice with chaos (sic).
What?
It would have been even more if the Pope could draw a straight line …

How so?
Hi, jewish american here. I recognize Palistine, and I have a hard time understanding why “safe for jews” and “recognizing palistine” are mutually exclusive. Could you elaborate on that? Just so you know any answer involving Isreal I’m just going to call antisemetic since conflating jews and Isreal is antisemitic in the same way conflating China and chinese people is racist.
Other then the fact that its the state religion of Israel and the supposed location of some “promised” land.
What do jews in the rest of the world have to do with it.
Surely any decent human being regardless of cultural background understands that bombing schools and hospitals isn’t very neighborly.
Jewish americans make up 2% of the population though?
jewish community fleeing inquisition
I sure wan’t expecting this.
Jewish people have no problems with the recognition of Palestine.

what are these images pointing out?
Brics is based while NATO is cringe?
Edit: didn’t see Ireland there, I have no idea then
Wow, really horrifying how you can see the spasms of violence since 2004 in the frequency bunching of these recognition dates. Like, you can tell shit went down in 2011 and 2024
Did they put the Chad flag right next to the Romanian flag?
baited
or should I say, Barbaited!
it seems like they used the wrong colors if they intended to draw Barbados though, otherwise I couldn’t find an exact match.
I thought it’s just Romania, twice.
The second image in the lead is showing the list of countries who recognised Palestine after the episode in question. Based on the title, you need the list of countries who recognised before.
And yes, we recognised them in 1988.
simply put, i thought it’d be more interesting to do it that way
