Isn’t it interesting how they immediately arrested him on a tip and are now building a case. Whereas with Trump, they did nothing for 4 years because, “Procedure dictates we had to build a case before arrest.”

Well, st Luigi doesn’t have a million dollar legal team to stall the proceedings until he can become president and just quash the whole thing by extending the polite convention.

Apparently that stops the clock entirely on these things, right??

I do follow this issue, but how is this US-internal topic relevant to the fediverse community?

I say this as someone who opposes oligarchs and has a rather critical attitude towards local perceptions of corruption in the US.

Sometimes communities will get behind a movement that’s outside of a community’s subject matter but is important to all.

I assure you, seeing a bunch of losers literally worship a jailed murderer is very far from important to me. I actually like him less every day because of how twisted your perceptions of him are, but now you’ve escalated to organized religion level? Whats next, gonna go door to door preaching about him? Beg for donations outside of Walmart? Make schools give a fake copy of his manifesto equal representation as real theory?

If it’s important to you pushy bastards, just make your own community or instance about it.

There’s probably a crusader saint. Oh st Joan of Arc. Sure she was sanctified for martyrdom (only catholic saint to be martyred by the catholic church yet), but she did do a war as part of her miracles

JoA never killed anybody. She just went into battle. Many people also believe Saint Patrick committed genocide against the druids in Ireland, but this is an historical myth, originating from the speculation of Elizabethan era scholars. The actual historical record only supports him preaching in Ireland, not being violent (plenty of the people who listened to him were THEN violent).

However, there are a bunch of saints who led armies (or were just soldiers) during the crusades, at least one saint who was a Viking leader who then converted and helped to (violently) Christianize the Nordic countries (Saint Olaf of Norway), and Saint Peter of Verona was an inquisitor who zealously hunted heretics in Northern Italy in the 1200s (very likely ALSO a torturer in addition to a murderer).

Mother Teresa prevented hundreds if not thousands from getting proper medical treatment so they could stay in her “care”. That and advocating for and defending rapists, I’m sure she at least killed a handful of people at least indirectly.

There are places better for this. The sidebar of this community says:

A community to talk about the Fediverse and all it’s related services using ActivityPub (Mastodon, Lemmy, KBin, etc).

An image of him isn’t related to that at all (even if it’s related, I’d argue it’s a low-effort post–wouldn’t it be better if we post something like a discussion of about the censorship and how fediverse is better).

        So let’s be better.

Well that’s not because it’s being downvoted…which is what you said. It’s because it’s being upvoted until it gets censored, which is happening less here in the fediverse than on corporate run sites like reddit…

Pretty sure the exact reason for the fediverse was to build social networks that were resistant to any one person or group of people expressing influence over the whole.

The reason not being about anarchy or having to put up with stupid bullshit like murder worship if we don’t want to.
