It’s been on my list of strains to try for a while now - it keeps popping up in dispos around here but so far I’ve only seen it on offer from producers I don’t really care for. One day!

Haven’t tried Forbidden Fruit. Looks great.

I have two strands that I highly recommend.

Best is “Purple Space Cookies” it’s incredible and actually purple.

Another great one is Mike Tyson. A knockout of an indica.

I’ve never seen Mike Tyson but I’ve been watching for it for a couple months now after I had a really good MAC Tyson live rosin by Verdant.

Oh yeah, Forbidden Fruit is excellent. Mine is Durban Poison. It’s got a clear and crisp uplifting creative energy. Tastes freaking great too, very limey.

Dutch Treat is definitely my favorite. It is a perfect hybrid that chills me out without putting me to sleep. I have a high sensitivity to different strains, some will give me extreme anxiety (sour diesel) some will give me paranoia (bubblegum kush) and I have never done well with pure indica.

Oh Dutch Treat is grea! A couple of my favorite producers put out Dutch Treat live resin now & again and it’s got such a unique taste - it always reminds me of like honey & anise/black licorice!

Green Crack is always a solid choice for me. Smoked a lot of it in college (friends grew a ton) and it’s one of the few heavy sativas that don’t break my brain.

This isn’t an all time favorite strain for me but I’ll never forget, in the late 90’s or maybe early 2000’s when it was just dirt weed, mids (outdoor brick weed), beasters (Canadian orange hair seedless) and headies (indoor/hydro etc) there was this fall time harvest weed that reeked like Christmas trees. Definitely outdoor but seedless and very potent pine smell and flavor. Gave you a completely different and unique high that I haven’t been able to find since. Shit was cheap, unique and only came around during the fall harvest but since bud has become more mainstream and more grey market that strain seems to have become extinct. I miss it dearly. For context I’m talking about north eastern USA and always hypothesized it was grown in the pine barrens of central New Jersey

My oldhead friend (a Vietnam vet who had been guerilla growing since the 70’s) had a mythical local homegrown strain like this as well, and he had been trying to hunt it down for years. The strain he was hunting was called India Rose, and he said it grew amazingly well as an outdoor strain here in Oregon & had a unique sweet & floral taste that smoked super smooth. I keep hoping I’ll find some one day and smoke some in his honor (RIP Dave)

One other tidbit that I remember is that this bud was technically considered mid grade because it was outdoor grown and a bit leggy but when you ground it up and had it in a pile, the shit would cascade down like a slow moving pile of sand because of how sappy it was if that makes any sense. It was sticky but dry and moved like that kids toy they make thats basically thick sand.

Edit: The description from this write up sounds spot on. The shit was ugly but dank af mids.

Northern Lights, it was the first strain I ever smoked. The smell and taste of it is just pure heaven.

I’ve still never had the original and I’ve been looking for a long while. I’ve had Oregrown’s Blueberry Northern Lights live resin caviar and that’s pretty high on my list of favorites.

I second Northern Lights. It’s the perfect smoke. Tastes fresh and herbaceous with no bitterness or acridity, gives a nice light heady high that can lead to sessions of ‘the gigs’, low on couch lock factor so you can smoke on the go without an energy hit.

I’ve been smoking for 20 years and first tried Northern back in '05, it’s been my favourite smoke ever since. Only found it once in the last 8 years, and now when it happens it feels like catching a glimpse of a unicorn.
