It’s an unambiguous flat out Nazi salute. The context was removed from this clip, but he says “my heart goes out to you” and puts his hand on his chest, then throws out the flat open palm Nazi salute and people are trying to say that he’s figuratively throwing his heart out to the crowd and it’s totally not a Nazi salute, but it’s straight up just a Nazi salute. Also he then turns and does it a second time.

Yeah, photos with that gesture are usually just taken in bad faith of somebody doing something completely different.
On the other hand, the video is clear and explicitly of the guy purposefully doing the entire gesture.
Yeah this was my precise problem. I have seen so many pictures of “Trump doing the Hitler salute” and then you watch the video and he’s just waving at people and then they take a still when it looks questionable.
Nah this is the rare case where the still picture is actually an improvement over the video. What the fuck is Elon doing.
