Oh, I didn’t know this! Thank you for that information. I hope the new government can materiality improve the lives of the public.

Some comments have pointed out that Finland already had a right-wing government going into this election, and I’ll admit that I was entirely unaware of this.
Again, I congratulate the Finnish public on rejecting right-wing and authoritarian politics, especially after having to suffer under it at home.
The Finns are all too aware of what far-right government means, they’re living next to it, and it’s threatening their very existence.
Congratulations on the Fins voting against barbarism! Here’s to hoping the upcoming election here in the USA follows suit, and continues to reject reactionary nationalism.

Illness, death, and antisocial behavior. All of these were threats we evolved to handle, people who are “a little bit off” in one way or another, who might endanger the group or individual. This, and that our pattern seeking brains don’t like it when something doesn’t easily fit within an existing schema, even more so if it lies just outside of our existing preconceptions.
Obviously, I can’t say that these definitely are the reasons why we experience the uncanny valley, but I think it’s probably a better explanation than… Skin walkers? Or whatever else the meme would be implying.
Still, it’s a cool premise for a horror story at least.
I assume you mean that we let Israel strike Palestine? Yes, that’s been true, but neither Hamas, nor the Palestinian Authority, or any other Palistinian group, have nuclear capabilities. That’s the concern with Russia, that they will respond with a tactical nuclear strike, or worse. Whether that fear is founded or not is a different question, of course.
Evidently, yes.
To be fair, Leviathan is a banger middle name. Plus you can be called Levi for short :)
It depends. I’ve known some people who use it to say they’re the crazy type or Republican too, but I’ve also heard it used by more moderate Republicans and conservatives, who don’t want to associate with Trump and the other authoritarians in the right-wing of the party. I’ve also seen it used by non-aligned voters, who don’t have another label for themselve, so just default to “libertarian”, because they’ve heard it before.
As a general rule, Conservatives don’t believe in mental health. Mental illness is thought of as a personal failing, and an issue to be solved by an individual “toughening-up”.
Scream not working because space make deaf.
I say otherwise, & I will happily bathe in the righteous flames of the eternally damned, rather than suffer the unholy blight of pickles on my beloved grilled cheese.
This reminds me a bit of Sync, formally for Reddit. They’re bringing it to Lemmy at some point in the future. Love all the new apps coming out for here, great work :)
I didn’t know that, thank you for informing me! Hopefully the new government can succeed in undoing any damage done by the previous government.
