10 months agoGDPR isn’t about where the site is hosted, but whether it caters to EU citizens or not. So, if a lemmy instance allows EU citizens to register and/or visit, GDPR applies to them.

I won’t say they’re not making it up, but their screenshot has “AI overview”, yours doesn’t. It is probable that “normal” google gives different results than “AI” Google.
