OP is a China shill. Review his post and comment history. He’s spamming all the news communities with stuff like this.

Articles from Al Jazeera? What exactly is your standard for journalism that even Al Jazeera is considered to be too biased for you? It’s not like OP is posting FoxNews articles or anything.

You have to scroll a bit, but you can eventually see comments made by the OP, supporting CCP, criticizing Western countries and capitalism, claiming Tibetans love CCP and that China and Tibet are one country, etc. Definitely a shill.

Meh. Would he be a shill if he was attacking all of that?

Seems like ‘shill’ is being tossed around as ‘goes against the status quo.’

I don’t agree with what he says, but I’ll defend his ability to say it here. If it bothers me too much, I can just block him and move on with my life.

          Exactly this.

I’m not disputing the story. I think knowing the OPs motivation for posting it is useful info.

Does that somehow negate the point of the article to show that the US keeps violating Cuban sovereignty and is now, or maybe has already been, sending nuclear subs there much to Cuba’s disdain?

Are you claiming this is fake news or just that the they have an ideological motivation for posting news of real events that makes the US look poorly?

Okay, so what is your point in spamming all his posts with these comments?

What difference does it make to anyone just interested in the article if what you’re saying is true? If it doesn’t impact this story he posted, what’s the point? Do you think they’re going to get banned? Or do you think people will bother to remember this user’s handle and remember that you said they were a Chinese shill? Besides, do you ever go around claiming people are US or pro-capitalist shills? I’m no fan of China but just seems like you commenting this way is just liberal posturing to me.

They have motivation to post news that reflects poorly on the US. That is propagandizing. Read about the comments OP has made.

Okay, so once again, do their comments invalidate posting this news? Do you prefer to only read positive news of the US? Or do you think only pro-US people can post news that reflects poorly on the US?

You say propagandizing as if it is inherently bad, but as of right now this “propaganda” just makes one critical of the US or makes the US look poorly. As a Leftist, I don’t think it’s a bad thing for people to be critical of the US’s imperialist behavior in Latin America and elsewhere. Do you think it is not justified to think poorly of the US?

Their opinion on China, or whatever else, is one thing and thinking poorly or critically of the US is another and they are not necessarily mutually dependant as if everyone who thinks critically of the US will suddenly love China. So, once again, this just sounds like liberal posturing to me.

OP is well within their right share information critical of the US.

People are also well within their right to point out the political bias of a poster.

Another dumbass liberal, I wish all of you stayed on reddit.

No one is arguing about these so-called “rights”. My point is to ask what people like you hope to accomplish with your comments on a post that had nothing to do with ‘shilling China’. Should I go and follow you around on all irrelevant posts saying you’re a capitalist, pro-US shill? What would that accomplish exactly, besides making me look like an idiot? I’m a Leftist that doesn’t even like nor support China but you’re all such insufferable hypocrites.

The US submarine is in territory that it legally rents from Cuba.

It’s not violating Cuba’s rights any more than you violate your landlord’s rights when you invite someone to your apartment that your landlord doesn’t approve of.

I mean, China does the same thing with Taiwan and Japan. People post articles about that all the time but they’re not called ‘shill’ because they support the popular narrative.

Because people think there is a real risk that China will invade Taiwan. Which is not unreasonable, given that China said it considers Taiwan to be part of China and occasionally makes vague threats about ending its independence. Hence their military maneuvers are a potential escalation.

In contrast, the US came to its senses about 50-60 years ago and finally realized that invading Cuba would be stupid and pointless. Since that flash of insight, the US hasn’t “escalated” anything when it comes to Cuba. Nowadays Americans can barely remember that Cuba exists.
