i’m doing it because I want to make the fediverse more friendly place, in hopes of making it more welcoming for new users, and the nicer place in general. But I wonder how much is just less bots.

    I agree but I still feel like people jump down your throat way too often for trying to have a conversation other than ‘yes sir/ma’am!’

    And I always get a chuckle out of comments with downvotes but no replies. I like that extra bit of transparency. (Unlike on reddit, you can see that leftist commentary is both popular and unpopular at the same time!) One day I will have to tally up the usernames and see who my own most shy yet dedicated fans are and do a character study on them.

    I think many of us still have more deprogramming to work through. Nonetheless, it’s an improvement in every way.

    Edit: I had already forgotten, but I did get told to “fuck off” by a user on beehaw earlier today.

      For me, it only happens with political or politically connected topics. If I don’t agree with whatever stance they are taking, I get lots of hate comments and lots of downvotes
