I’m not on his side, the strict opposite, but we can’t kill em all. I’d we start there, where do we stop? I know, it seems oh so complicated, but it’s not black and white. We have to find a way to deal with these individuals. I haven’t got a plan, but killing them isn’t a viable solution. Think about it. I know, it sounds so tempting and easy, but it’s not easy to deal with these things. Never.
I hear you, I’m against the death penalty myself… until these types turn up and then I think… why should my tax dollars keep these pieces of shit alive?
On the other hand, we don’t want the state to be executing people all the time. So what is to be done?
Maybe we need to put it to a vote. Every year the state gets a maximum amount it can put to death. We vote on who gets the rope. There can’t be too many, like 5 per year seems like too many.
Idk, after watching a ton of true crime videos, I’m acutely aware that there are a very small number of people that just shouldn’t be alive because they are a danger to everyone else including inmates who could be rehabilitated and be non-violent members of society.
The thing about that is,that people vote and people are the factor that’s the most easily manipulated in such proceedings. Just ask the Trump-financed ad campaign where he tried to convince the public to put the Central Park Five to death. Or where he tried to get people to vote for him for that matter. Sometimes a vote just serves to confirm what you managed to convince the public of.
What was that saying again? “Pure democracy is when five wolves and one sheep vote on what’s for dinner”.

well if money is your concern, unfortunately it’s more expensive to kill people than to imprison them for life.
True, but I think it’s the bureaucracy to blame there… A bullet costs like 50 cents.
well then you’re into the debate of who can be killed for what and for why. pretty much it always leads back to the same place.
I’m against the death penalty but there are a lot of murder cases where I, as a juror, would vote not-guilty.
