You don’t understand Palestine at all. It’s not a fundamentalist Islamic territory like some of their neighbors. Of course there are some in there, but it’s not anything like you see in other Islamic areas. You’re just lumping all Arabs and Muslims in together to fit your ignorant ass Western worldview.
I would love to see you try to argue that christians and jews were not persecuted throughout the entirety of the ottoman empire, within the borders of ancient palestine. Sure, there are always moderates in every society. that’s not what we’re talking about though. and no, im certainly NOT lumping all muslims together.
The Ottoman Empire? I’m sorry, I know better than to try and have a conversation about Israel online, but you have to understand the incidence rate of religious discrimination in the time before WWI.
Hell, more recently than the Ottoman Empire, Jews were evicted all over mainland Europe and Canada and the US (among others) rejected taking these settlers. That wasn’t even the first significant, destructive wave of antisemitism in a continent that subjected Muslims and Jews to pogroms, forced conversion, and treatment as secondary citizens for centuries. This was all obviously very wrong, but most people don’t take it as a reason to think that the majority of Europeans, Canadians, and Americans are just waiting for a chance to be as antisemitic as possible.
What’s happening now is a horror show. What was happening three days ago was also a horror show. That doesn’t justify showing off a woman’s naked corpse, but it’s true.
