Two videos in particular have raised concerns of sexual assault against women, one of which shows a woman apparently bleeding into her shorts being taken out of a vehicle in Gaza; the woman is alive. The other video shows a woman stripped down to her underwear lying face down in a truck.

Hamas was voted into power by Gaza conservatives. They have been completely inept in their “leadership” for almost 20 years, as is to be expected of conservatives.

My impression is that the elected Fatah government does not have power in Gaza, which is held by Hamas as a dictatorship. Hamas refused to hold elections in 2021-2022.

My understanding of Palestinian politics is that Fatah lost legitimacy by supporting negotiations with Israel, which Israel undermined. Corruption was also a part.
