Things can affect your perception of someone even if you don’t consciously notice them; some things are specifically intended to affect your perception of someone without being consciously noticed.

I’ve never said those words, but eye lash extensions do it for me. It’s not often that I notice it, but when I start getting that junior high crush feeling for women I interact with, I usually notice they have the fake eyelashes going.

Man she’d be really hot if her eyelashes were longer.

There. I just said it. Now this post is a LIE

      So, a few things:

      1. No way to prove you’re a dude.
      2. Post is still not a lie, as your statement followed the post. You can’t say that someone in the year 1900 was a liar if they said “no man has walked on the moon”.
      3. Technically you wrote it, not said it. Therefore your comment is a LIE

No but they absolutely do say, “Wow you look really pretty today” but have no idea why.

Men treat you nicer when you wear makeup.

The other day my coworker said, “you look different. I don’t know what it is, but you look great. I think you’ve been getting a lot of rest” nope. Just wore makeup that day

My husband, many times, has been looking at me, admiring me, and complimenting me on how naturally beautiful I am without realizing I just filled my eyebrows in that day and have darker lashes rather than blonde lashes.

Just because men have the privilege of ignorance doesn’t mean they aren’t attracted to made up faces.

I believe the post is specifically about long eyelashes, fake eyelashes.

That said, my wife has worn makeup twice in 18 years. I love her for being herself, but I complimented her on how nice she looked those two times her sister did her makeup because I’m not a complete jerk and have some idea of how to be kind when someone has spent an hour trying to look nice. I also attempted to make it clear that I preferred her without makeup, maybe something along the lines of, “I love how naturally beautiful you are.”

Just because some women consider men to be ignorant doesn’t mean we are.

Mates, makeup ain’t for y’all. You know how you spent eight hours messing with your .bashrc or rolling for counter strike skins or whatever weirdass hobby you have? You don’t do it because you are trying to attract women - you see your friends get into something cool and you get competitive with them. That’s what it is for the womenfolk. They get their nails did and do weird ass makeup looks because it’s a fun hobby. They know that you probably don’t care about the difference between coffin and ballerina nails. But their friends do, and they want to show off, because it’s fun.

My wife cranks the thermostat to 80° when it gets really cold because she thinks the furnace will heat the house faster (and not just run longer until the set temperature is achieved). I don’t make sexist remarks about women not getting HVAC concepts because they are simple or stupid or whatever I’m seeing here “because men lack the understanding of what tiers of makeup exist” when asked about their preferences. It’s asinine.

Sometimes people don’t know about the way things work; and it is okay.

Which is true, but the male gaze is at work here. Makeup isn’t necessarily about attracting men.

Gotdamn yall. Some men think it’s hot, some men don’t. Some women do wear makeup for others, some women don’t. More broadly, no one group does anything for a single reason so we need to stop being so combative online about shit posts.
