Tell me you don’t understand the meaning of genocide without telling everyone you don’t understand the meaning.

also considering how old the number of 35,000 and number of continued attacks it’s gonna be a much higher number now not that it will change the minds of people like you

Blah blah blah. This post has nothing to do with the legal definition of genocide.

I replied directly to someone who made the idiotic statement that Israel is trying to genocide all of Palestine. You have to be truly delusional to think that’s the case.

7 months and you’re still getting this wrong.

Genocide does not have to exterminate everyone to be considered genocide. Erasing the nation is also a definition of genocide; and Netanyahu has publicly admitted to this. His party charter says to eliminate Palestine. He said he will never allow a Palestinian state, and that Palestinians don’t exist and are just Jordanians. His cabinet has toyed with the idea of forcibly deporting all Palestinians. The ICC and ICJ have spelled out how Netanyahu’s policies meet the definition of genocide.

Can we let this falsehood die already?

I know that. The person I replied to suggested they are trying to wipe out all Palestinians. It’s absurd.

The ICJ spelled out how a collection of cherry-picked allegations reported in the press if proven true in court, could constitute the crime of genocide.

The unnattributed “reports” heavily relied upon in South Africa’s application are going to be a heavy lift to prove in court.

Do you honestly believe Netanyahu loves Palestinians and that the quotes in court were merely cherry-picked? His whole career is against the state of Palestine; it’s even on his damn campaign website and in the party charter. If you can’t be convinced of the blindingly obvious truth I can’t help you.

You can try to attack Sourh Africa as much as you want but Israel’s military ally Egypt also signed onto the charges. So did a lot of NGOs and EU countries. If you want to live in denial then that’s on you, but don’t try lying to the rest of us.

I don’t support Netanyahu at all. He’s a maniac and he must be tossed from office. I have a lot of hope he will be soon.

South Africa’s complaint is dog shit. It features like 200 links to news articles as its proof. It’s anti semitic fan fiction. The only concern I had to the allegations is when did South Africa start doing Iran’s bidding?

I’m just ballparking here, but those 200 links describe the same maybe 50 events. Of those 50 events, 35 say right on their face they are unconfirmed reports, of the other 15, 12 are completely blown out of proportion and exaggerated, stories of snipers shooting unarmed kids and so forth, or that any person in North Gaza was killed without a warning, or even now in this thread, the lie that Israel target civilians when in fact they were targeting Hamas commanders, the other 3 are legit claims.

I’m not impressed by a handful of bone fide war crimes. It’s a war. Crimes are going to happen. Maybe try, I don’t know not starting a war? Especially if it’s one you cannot possibly win. One side is probably going to try and cover them up, and maybe if they can’t cover it up they will fire everyone involved and prosecute some of them. Not perfect, not even ideal.

The other side, though, guaranteed, is committing war crimes, on purpose, as part of an intentional strategy, and the perpetrators are given cash prizes, funded by the Iranian Immamate and the Qatari monarchy. Everytime they step out without a uniform, war crimes. Every indiscriminate rocket they launch at civilians, war crimes. Every hostage, war crime. Mass shooting, war crime. Do I need to tell you the suicide bombings are also war crimes?

Like wtf are you even talking about here?

If Israel cannot prove up their claims in court, that will convince me otherwise. I’m sure they’re going to have no trouble for virtually all of the most sensational claims against them.

This is the best summary I could come up with:

“I don’t intend to end the war before every goal has been achieved," Mr Netanyahu said during his address, which was interrupted by occasional heckles from family members of hostages taken by Hamas during the 7 October attack in southern Israel.

But the Palestinian Red Crescent said the air strike targeted tents for displaced people near a UN facility in Tal al-Sultan, about 2km (1.2 miles) north-west of the centre of Rafah.Videos from the scene in the Tal al-Sultan area on Sunday night showed a large explosion and intense fires burning.

Graphic footage showed a number of structures ablaze next to a banner saying “Kuwaiti Peace Camp ‘1’”, as well as first responders and bystanders carrying several bodies.Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) said on Monday that one of its facilities had received at least 28 dead people following the strike, including woman and children.

MSF rejected Israeli claims that the strike was precise, saying the “attack on a populated camp in a so-called ‘safe zone’ in Rafah shows the complete disregard for the lives of civilians in Gaza”.

How did a “precision strike” using specialised munitions with “reduced warheads” result in a firestorm which killed dozens and injured scores?Following last week’s ruling by the ICJ, ordering Israel to halt any operations in the Rafah area that might inflict further harm on the Palestinian population, Israel knows that the eyes of the world are on it.

It’s under enormous pressure to explain its actions. It says the operation was based on intelligence, and it seems both Hamas figures were killed. But the presence of huge numbers of civilians and, it seems, a significant quantity of flammable material, raises a great many questions about how this incident was planned and executed. With top military officials, including Maj Gen Yifat Tomer Yerushalmi, the IDF’s advocate general, promising a thorough investigation, we can expect some kind of more detailed explanation to come quite soon. But whether this marks a turning point in the campaign is another matter.Mr Netanyahu remains committed to what he calls “total victory” in Rafah, so there’s no sign that Sunday’s disaster will change his mind.Despite the appalling scenes from last night, Israeli ground forces still appear to be acting somewhat cautiously as they edge closer to the city of Rafah itself.Their operations so far have not resulted in a bloodbath. But that’s exactly what last night’s air strike achieved, dealing yet another blow to Israel’s already battered image and undermining its rationale for pressing on.

This is a lazy comment, and frankly everybody is standing next to everybody else in Gaza from the perspective of 2000 pound bombs. It is a tiny area.

Your capacity to feel empathy for a genocide of people has clearly been broken your beliefs, and you should be ashamed that your beliefs are so poorly constructed that they make you worse off than an ignorant child who knows nothing but is capable of feeling empathy intuitively.

That’s you’re opinion. In fact it is my empathy for the hundreds of millions of people that will suffer for a war between Iran and Israel that is formative to my opinions on this. You actually do not give a fuck, in my view, because you seem content to sentence millions of people to live and die under religious terrorism. It is your opinion that is malformed and shortsighted.

Famine has been “imminent” since November, the reports of widespread famine are not credible. Aid has been flowing thanks to Israel since like week two. Give it a rest.

At any rate it is the leadership of Hamas that has led to any want of food in Gaza, and only through western charity that every person in Gaza didn’t starve to death fifty years ago.

99.3% of Palestinians haven’t died despite your sensational claims. You don’t think you’ve blown this out of proportion a tad? Maybe slightly overly emotional about it? Like what is this mass scale you’re talking about? Mass scale means a small town worth of people? On what planet?

The most sophisticated fighter aircraft in the world built to out maneuver and defeat sophisticated near peer Russian or Chinese air defense networks are being used as glorified dolly carts to wheel out and dump block clearing 2000 US made bombs…

…onto a city and refugee camp. They are being used to bomb hospitals one by one.

A significant number of attacks on healthcare facilities occurred during the Israel-Hamas war. During the first week of the war, there were 94 attacks on health care facilities in Israel and Gaza, killing 29 health care workers and injuring 24.[1] The attacks on healthcare facilities contributed to a severe humanitarian crisis in Gaza.[2] By 30 November, the World Health Organization documented 427 attacks on healthcare in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, resulting in 566 fatalities and 758 injuries.[3] By February 2024, it was reported that “every hospital in Gaza is either damaged, destroyed, or out of service due to lack of fuel.”[4] By April, WHO had verified 906 attacks on healthcare in Gaza, the West Bank, Israel, and Lebanon.[5]

Why the fuck are you assuming destroying Gaza and committing genocide against the Palestines is a requirement for any plan of action?

Your viewpoint expresses perfectly how insufficient and dangerous blind centrism is.

I have brought up the very real and needless slaughter of probably 50,000+ (if not double that when including all the murder from unnecessary starvation) innocent women, children and men and all you want to talk about are some scaryyy tunnels. Israel has some of the most advanced tanks in the world, some of the most advanced jets in the world, and in general has a functioning modern combined arms military…. and you are a worried about…

                  …some tunnels?

You are a clown, I keep saying this but looking back history will have no other name for fools like you who have a comic degree of callousness for the lives of Palestinians and refuse to see the mass scale genocide of Palestinians right in front of their eyes because it doesn’t fit their narrative of how the world works.

You would have been better served remaining entirely ignorant on this topic and simply extending your empathy to Palestinians from purely a standpoint of the fact that they are human beings and deserve care and empathy.

Instead you learned a bunch of smart concepts and “facts” and loaded them up into your head not realizing they were clearly brain worms that would totally destroy even your basic capacity to feel empathy for other humans.

                  Shame on you.

Yes, even at the time of your posting Israel claimed they were hitting an underground bunker that just magically happened to be there after IDF cleared the entire territory and declared it a “safe zone” and moved civilians into it. None of your original claim is true nor the fault of anyone but Israel, even if we were to buy Israel’s claim which is dubious to begin with.

I don’t see what you think I got wrong about the story.

You realize the tunnels shafts are usually concealed right? They apparently walk right past them all the time. That’s how tunnel warfare works. There are 500 miles of tunnels inside a 25 mile wide area. It’s really inconcievable to you that there was a tunnel under this camp? That Hamas was literally using the tunnels because it was a humanitarian area, just like they do with every public institution, hospitals and so fourth. This is their strategy, Hamas and their loyal fans.

I don’t find IDF’s claim here dubious at all. It’s a hell of a lot more credible just at face value than you’re giving it credit for, at any rate. Seems obvious I’m talking to someone who only regards Israeli people as evil, attributes everything to malice.

The IDF cleared the area and then chose to designate it as a safe zone. That’s 100% their responsibility if they herded and encouraged civilians there. Israeli intelligence has a pretty detailed map of the tunnels and have been citing them widely. I do not believe they suddenly discovered a tunnel (since they’re not even claiming a tunnel existed, merely that the Hamas people were underground). AND spokesman Daniel Hagari said that Israel only used two 17kg bombs, which isn’t enough to reach or destroy a tunnel.

Seems obvious I’m talking to someone who only regards Israeli people as evil, attributes everything to malice.

Nope, but keep looking for reasons to dismiss everyone you disagree with so nobody can affect your beliefs with new facts or evidence or logical arguments.

After 24 hours of absolutely awful videos on TV and social media, Netanyahu finally reverses his previous press statement about “precision bombs” and “precision intelligence” targeting a refugee camp in a IDF-designated safe zone and decides to pretend the whole thing was a misunderstanding.

Rashida Tlaib is right, why won’t Biden say anything about his precious red line being violated?
