MrBeast is one person who I wouldn’t be even remotely surprised if he had some horrible secret, like diddling kids or something equally creepy.

There’s something very off about that guy.

Some people just don’t know how to smile in front of a camera.

Or it’s part of their clickbait thumbnail strategy, like how other Youtubers make an obnoxious face because those thumbnails get clicks.

It’s an expression that’s optimized to maximize the click through rate of a video. Unfortunately it also looks hideous

Been a lot of controversy around him in past weeks. I dont watch him, and while I am a fan of his charity work, it was an interesting read.

His charity work while mostly good is purposely misleading, makes kids believe all his money for those videos is coming from YouTube/sponsors when I’d wager the majority of it is coming from his branded merch and those that sign up and pay for the chance to be in his videos. Like playing the lottery with extra steps. Could be worse sure, but his base largely doesn’t understand how it works.

Old school YouTubers started and sold Maker Studios. I think ShayCarl, Lisa Nova and Kassam G are some that were part of that.

I tried pulling up his youtube (using Grayjay) don’t see any old videos. I’ve also viewed some other youtubers but can’t seem to get english subtitles. Though, on big channels like Kurzegsagt in a nutshell, there are subtitles in all sorts of languages

Edit: oh apparently I was on gronkhtv and not gronkh. Still can’t get english subtitles though.

Your WorldTM is managed, every moment crafted by gentle handlers. See these unnatural qualities and weep that you do not possess them.

Not that I don’t trust a random greentext 4channer, but is this true?

It would explain why asmongold defended him

I know beast was with a company called night owned by reed duchscher and they company claims to work with a lot of other streamers, so it’s at least true-ish.

Yes this is true, they’re a talent management company. A couple months back Night Inc also bought The Roost bringing H3, Phillip DeFranco, Ludwig and others under their umbrella too.

Mr Beast went independent since this was originally posted too.

It’s odd how I already didn’t like most of those creators to begin with. I guess this just gives me a reason

I thought Philip DeFranco was independent? Wikipedia shows Rogue Rocket for his show?

After searching: The Roost is a podcast company but the page for Night lists them as acquiring the show. Podcast and YouTube show with the same name?

DeFranco lost me when he went too political. As do most entertainers. There is something when they go political, they lose what got the audience interested in the first place. Same with Rogan. The appeal is a bunch of random funny news rather than the same boring crap.

I just wrote a marketing plan for a company selling ESG data solutions to $1B+ businesses. Its likely going to be a big topic in the coming years.

Of course it’s also likely going to be full of bullshit and excuses and weasling out of their responsibilities.

Most of this seems true (or was at the time) but this is outdated now. Mr. Beast is no longer managed by Night Media.
