I eat my fries no sauce. I like the taste potato with a little bit of salt in it.
Same. Sauce ruins good fries.
I vote for cheesy fries. I used to like malt vinegar on steak fries/potato wedges, but I can’t eat it anymore (fucking Celiac’s).
Do potatoes have gluten?
Malt vinegar does
TIL
In the UK most fish and chips shop vinegar isn’t malt but tastes just like it (most people don’t even know). You can buy the same stuff online or get it from wholesalers.
Well now I gotta find some here in the States! Thanks!
I love disco fries & poutine, but its not an everyday thing for me. (Disco fries are like an American version of poutine with beef gravy & yellow American cheese instead of cheese curds)
I make a dipping sauce from ketchup & mayo and will variously embellish it with things like mustard/dill relish/sriracha or worcestershire/garlic/oregano/lemon juice
I also make a “buffalo ranch seasoning” with cayenne, garlic, vinegar powder and powdered ranch dressing.
Cheese & bacon bits with sour cream is another favorite.
I’m a basic bitch who usually sticks to honey mustard but I really like your sense of variety. They all sound really yummy.
It ain’t wrong if it makes your taste buds happy!
You sound like you’d enjoy Carne Asada Fries.
yellow American cheese instead of cheese curds)
Line kraft singles?
Sure, or melted Velveeta
I’m not sure I’ve ever had Velveeta. If you can ever get your hands on curds though please give 'em a try.
Oh, I just make them. 😁
I put salt on my fries. I dip them not.
French fries are meant to be dipped. If they have shit dumped all over them, they are no longer fries, they are potato nachos. Which is delicious, but it’s not French fries.
1 nah
2 dudes out here gate-keeping fries
Kapsalon is potato nachos confirmed.
Kapsalon is fucking great 🇳🇱🇳🇱
Or many Peruvian dishes. I’m a sucker for lomo saltado personally.
So it’s Donair poutine? I’ll fw it
Döner poutine, yes, though shoarma is common as well. But yeah, it’s great.
I’m from Canada, and when we say “Donair”, we are referring to what many other countries would call “döner kebab”
For clarity: donair is a specific kind of doner kebab invented in Canada, not just a local name for it.
Canada still has other kinds of doner kebabs besides the donair.Accurate username
The choice was intentional 😭
They are soggy is what they are, and by extension, disgusting
E: downvote me all you want, you snot-fry loving heathens.
According to the cube rule of food identification this is correct.
Y’know I never thought of chili cheese fries as nachos, but I do love me some chili and cheese on tortilla chips.
Frito pies ftw!
Malt vinegar is delicious on potato nachos.
Can’t argue with that!
I sort of consider dipping fries and fries with stuff on them to be two different but related species of meal, pretty much exactly like the difference between chips-and-salsa and nachos. Frychos.
As to preferences, for dipping, spicy ketchup (mix tomato ketchup 1-for-1 with siriacha or other hot sauce); for frychos, fucking everything! Load em up: guacamole, chilli, cheese, onions, peppers, bacon, mushrooms, gravy, salsa, mustard, marshmallows, spinkles, alright alright I’m getting carried away now, you get the idea!
I drown them in malt vinegar and then dip them in tartar sauce.
As God commands. Anything else is sacrilegious.
Chili
Sateh saus, mayonaise and raw chopped onions, the “patatje oorlog” in the Netherlands, or “war fries”. Sooooo good
salt obviously but besides that cheese and bacon.
Fight this:
Put them in a paper cone and slather them with mayonnaise.
Fucking mayo on fries? Jesus Christ
I can only give a non exhaustive list:
Mayonaise, onions, beef stew, peanut butter, tartar sauce, pickles, cocktail saus, andaloes, barbeque sauce, bicky sauce, joppie sauce, Hawaii sauce, Brazilian sauce, tomagrec, chilli, curry, Mammoet, Samurai and some do a combination of several.
The list of options to put on your fries here is long.
Cocktail sauce is cheating. Lol
I love fries & cocktail sauce on my shawarma sandwich.
Kapsalon superiority
Salt and Malt Vinegar go all over my fries.
