Is this similar to how rdx works? I use it when I need to check my city’s sub from time to time.

Thanks for your efforts! The only sound conclusions on their side would be to shut off unauthenticated endpoints returning valuable data.

That would kneecap public access to anything. Their API is what runs their site, requiring auth for everything would essentially break Reddit for anyone not logged in.

That would kill new accounts. No one would know what was being talked about before onboarding, but without that information, what would their motivation be for onboarding?

        Sucks to be them.

You technically don’t need to accept their EULA to access these unauthenticated endpoints, it’s how most third-party YouTube clients like NewPipe are able to do whatever they want.

I agree but that is what Twitter seems to have done and for some reason it’s still around. Dying, but still around.

Reddit needs to die. They don’t care about the user base, it’s a cyberbullies paradise, they allow sub moderators to use software to block your IP even though an IP ban is supposed only be done by administrators, but admin doesn’t care because they get money. And now that they’ve partnered with Google they can have an algorithm go ahead and block every email associated with Google.

Also if you really want to see how censored reddit is ran now, go to one of the most popular subs and just try to use the word “moderator” in a post. You don’t even have to criticize them. They literally block the word from getting used because they refuse criticism

There was a case where a reddit mod was power tripping and if i remember correctly he was banning people for no reason/Criticism

There’s a lot that go on crazy power trips still. And it’s only going to get worse because there’s no repercussions to their actions nor is the checks and balances to ensure mods are doing what they’re supposed to do

      They literally block the word

Then just refer to them the same way the greedy little pigboy did: landed gentry.

Reasons everywhere to leave reddit, Twitter and even YouTube (who we all probably thought they couldn’t ruin their reputation).

And yet the masses won’t. They care too much about bots inflating their follow numbers and people with a community don’t want to make an effort to keep it outside of the platform. Twitter is at its worst it’s ever been but that doesn’t seem to matter to anyone.

I still have Reddit account (since 2012) and I was never been banned there… Because I barely use it. In few days, I’ve been using Lemmy (and Mastodon) more than I ever used Reddit in years, because I value and like decentralized and open platforms.

24 hour ban. Because I told a terf to “go die” when she was advocating for post op trans women to be placed in men’s prison.

Like, nah. I ain’t gonna let someone play me like that.

I got banned for fighting pedophiles over stupid Dr disrespect drama. Stupid as in Doctor disrespect is a pedophile and his fans made excuses. I went into their sub like the little dumbass I am and picked fights with pedophiles about why “he didn’t break any laws” isn’t incompatible with him being a fucking pedophile and reddit banned me for “distributing child sexual content”. For telling people that just because it’s legal to fuck a 16 year old in Alabama doesn’t mean your not a fucking pedo.

      Appealed and denied at that.

I shouldn’t go picking fights in bees nests, or at all generally. Bad for your mental health and all. But still disturbs me that reddit won’t ban the pedophile defenders but will ban someone picking fights with them.
