Ah you got me fam, let me donate some more to Biden’s election fund to make up for it
Yeah was gonna add this, if you start paying attention you will notice a lot of cases where there’s a tiny red dot close to the middle of the image
It’s a lighting technique that creates more realistic visuals, especially reflections.
The technique allows the GPU to “track” / calculate how the light should actually travel and what it bounces off of (like light in real life), compared to the pre-calculated methods of before.
So it will cost you processing power and therefore frames, but it greatly increases the visual accuracy of lighting, shadows and reflections.
A simple but effective example is Minecraft with Ray Tracing. The following video showcases the difference:
https://youtu.be/9qxfavtUs7w?si=pBSq7iysC0HvHoYz
Notice how the game looks completely different. That’s what lighting can do for a game.
Obviously this is less noticeable when it’s a game with realistic graphics and a lot of time spent on getting the (prebaked) lighting just right.
It kinda looks like a stitch of two different videos, but I can’t find any source material
Ah shit my cover is blown, never used Linux
I am? Or am I missing a joke here? Wouldn’t be the first time
“we have no choice but to follow Reddits guidelines”
There’s another choice, but that would require you to look past reddit.
Jokes on you, she blows afterwards so my balls are nice and tight again
All hail
I have not posted anything since I started using Lemmy over a year ago. I just respond to DMs and tell them to get off Reddit
92% of songs are about love or sex.
That’s got nothing to do with my personal taste, that’s sex selling (pop) music.
Every song ever is about romance, sex or drugs.
This song is about romance. They didn’t mean it literally.
Edit: I’m pretty sure I got baited but I’ll keep it up. Got me today, squid :P
I asked AI how to toggle a setting in a popular messaging platform and it got it wrong.
mm I like this, you made it sound so simple!
If you flip a sine wave upside down (shift it 180 degrees), it can mean “1.” If the wave stays as it is, it can mean “0.” This flipping happens really fast, creating a pattern of 1s and 0s. That’s your data.
A special receiver then measures the wave’s shifts and turns them back into the original 1s and 0s.
Instead of just flipping the wave or not, you can also shift it by smaller angles:
This way, each wave can carry two bits of data instead of one, making it faster.
I’ve never seen something “go viral” like this on lemmy before.
I think they are just trends that start becoming popular because people are bored. At least, that’s how it can start.
I imagine for every user that’s like “that’s cool!”, there’s another user who’s like “alright time to avoid Lemmy for a while”, so perhaps there is not much to glean from the metrics.
Am interested in any data too though, if it’s there
Paper is everything, yes. But you can’t beat the image quality of inkjet when it comes to photos. Acceptable images, sure. But printing photos to sell or frame? No way.
While this is perfect for documents and prints where picture quality doesn’t matter, OP mentioned later that they bought it specifically for photos.
You can use laser for photos but it looks like shit, so inkjet was the right way to go here
I can’t believe they are getting away with so many bullshit non-solutions to the point where you wonder if they even know how to read.
I wonder if they trained AI on this. Might explain some things
