“No man ever steps in the same river twice, for it’s not the same river and he’s not the same man”
Reading reddit and now kbin and lemmy about stories like this one makes it easy to see how socialist regimes so often turn to authoritarianism.
That’s just the start my dude. Once we disregard insignificant values like human rights and personal freedom, solving the issue of other people making problematic choices becomes trivial.
Imagine all the crime we would prevent if we just locked up anyone who earns less than say 50k euros.
I disagree it’s a media thing. It has been covered. It’s just not an unusual story so people don’t share it as much.
Now billionaires dying on a submarine will get shared plenty. People love those stories. So naturally, you’ll see more about it.
I dislike seeing radicals joke about murdering their enemies. It dehumanises them which helps extremism takes hold.
Of course that is the point of such jokes, but you shouldn’t be surprised if people call you out on it.
Let’s demonise a subset of the population and joke about murdering them just like my ideological comrades did in the 20th century! Look how provocative I’m being.
Who are these donors and what does “eating” them actually entail?
I’m surely misinterpreting you, because it sounds like you’re suggesting murdering people over SoMe bullshit.
They were not forced, they were pressured. The mods caved to the threat of being replaced, showing everyone that having that little bit of power was always their main priority. I didn’t expect more from dog-walkers.
