Turn around
Mullet with headlights?
Over surprised guy.
Unrelated, but they used this song to tell us drugs were bad in high school. Had a whole performative dance thing to it where a student smoked weed for the first time and either OD’d or got depressed and unalived themselves because that’s how it works, of course.
Anyway, I was able to be in totality for the 2017 eclipse and I’m hoping to get there again this time. It’s an amazing experience - highly recommend!
I also got totality in 2017, which was awesome, but my daughter was still to young to really appreciate it, so I’m looking forward to this one more.
Don’t forget to bring Saltines to see the shadow through the holes in the cracker!
The duration is different depending on where you view it. I will be in an area where totality will last 4 minutes and 20 seconds so I have a different plan of action.
I think many of us have that plan of action regardless of the duration.
Pink Floyd or GTFO
Their songs may be slightly too long for an eclipse.
Also, we won’t be seeing The Dark Side of the Moon.
Not “Eclipse”, the last track from Dark Side. Just over two minutes, which will a little longer than the amount of time my area will have totality.
But I’ll see you there.
The fuck you mean we won’t see the dark side of the moon? What’s blocking the sun during the eclipse?! 😨
What’s blocking the sun during the eclipse?!
Technically its the light side of the moon thats blocking the sun.
Technically, the light side of the moon is the one that is facing the sun. You know, where the light is.
I mean technically it will be the dark side of the moon. It’ll just be the same side we normally see. A super fast new moon if you will.
You absolutely will be seeing the dark side of the moon…
The only people who have seen the dark side are the ones who have orbited around it. The dark side is the side that never faces us.
I offer this counterpoint: the dark side is the side that is dark
I suggest also Total Eclipse by Klaus Nomi Or Eclipse by Apoptygma Berzerk. Runtimes dont match but both are about eclipses and adecuate for the current state of owr world.
Klaus nomi for the doomers and apoptygma for the positives.
Here is an alternative Piped link(s):
I can hear this song without mentally picturing this scene from Dead Snow 2
Piped is a privacy-respecting open-source alternative frontend to YouTube.
I’m open-source; check me out at GitHub.
Unrelated, does her eyes seem like they’re staring just a little in different directions?
She’s probably just looking past the camera. It’s supposed to give better photographic head shots.
Emphasis on “Supposed to”
It’s just thst she’s a little bit nervous that the best of all the years have gone by
Living in a powder keg and giving off sparks ⚡️
It’s all the turning around. It made her cross-eyed.
Every time the song says “heart,” though, you gotta shout “sun” over it.
Be carful! There’s an abbreviated version and an extended version!
This is the version you want: https://open.spotify.com/track/7wuJGgpTNzbUyn26IOY6rj?si=YUAa_9XtQeqh8l1muTCosw
Not this one: https://open.spotify.com/track/1VrfLrBviw9A6JzRoo3t2C?si=kT-N9-0LRVym9zBVMDs19Q
Well, for the eclipse. For every other occasion you want the latter one.
Either way, Bonnie Tyler is the hero we need right now.
The duration of totality differs depending how near or far you are from the centre of its path. I mean, I’m gonna blast my karaoke version for all to hear anyway. Just sayin’.
I hope the bugs are active that time of year where you’re viewing the eclipse, you’ll be in for an extra treat that folks in Cleveland may not hear.
In fact, I’d say if you live south of St Louis maybe don’t play Total Eclipse of the Heart, or you won’t hear the bugs and frogs start up.
Central Texas here, super excited to hear the bugs and frogs!!
I live north of St. Louis. I’m just hoping it won’t be cold.
