Scatterbrained and friendly optimist. Always happy to give my (unasked for) opinion :)
Pardon my rambling and broken English, I know I often sound like an alien trying to impersonate a human being.
A slipknot works great! It’s done in a second and easily undone as well.
In Dutch it’s called a trouwring, which as a verb literally translates to wedding ring, but as a noun also to loyalty ring.
Which I find rather sweet.
Happy Birthday!
Sorry to hear about your birthday money, I hope you’ll still get to have nice day in spite of it!
I’ve taken up crochet for a while now and it seems to be a keeper (I tend to flit between hobbies a lot). I guess what makes this different is that a lot of the things I make are for others. My daughter loves the bracelets I make for her (the ones I’m not keeping for myself :) And recently I made a little bunny as a going away present. Having a goal like that is a great motivator.
I hope it’ll stick, because I do love it as a hobby. There’s still so much to learn.
I generated it using Midjourney. I like the flowers :)
Oh and the wallpaper on my work laptop:
Happy birthday! 🎂🎉
I’m sick with corona, thankfully it’s not too serious but I still feel lousy.
I know… I hope we’ll be having new elections again soon. I doubt I can stay sane if we have to take this guy seriously for the next four years :(
It’s national elections in The Netherlands. We’re voting for the Tweede Kamer ( like US congress but with proportional representation). The parties that manage to form a majority coalition will provide the new cabinet and prime minister.
Of course, if the past elections are anything to go by, it’ll take months before they finally form that coalition :)
It’s election day, time to vote again!
Oof, that’s maybe not a bad idea.
There’s a lot of stuff hidden out of sight that will only become noticeable when it’s too late. I was in the same position several years ago, back then it was at least 6 years since I last went to the dentist. Got some stern talking to and a trip to the dental hygienist.
I spend a good 45 minutes there crying in pain while she poked that hook of hers in every nook and cranny between my teeth. I was bleeding so much :(
Ermm… I just realized this might not really motivate you to go. But please do go, prevention is still so much better than the alternative.
Visited the dental hygienist today and was told she rarely sees teeth as clean as mine! So I’m in a good mood right now :)
Too bad, hope you’ll get it though!
That’s great! Are you the only one applying for the position?
Good luck! Hope you’ll get the job!
Good and bad. I had a health check at work where they measured my heart, weight, glucose, blood pressure, etc. Good news is that I’m pretty fit! Cholesterol can be better but, overall, my biological age is ten years younger than my actual age. So I’m quite pleased with the results! :)
Bad part though, is that I pulled something in my back during one of the exercises and hit my knee really hard against the desk when I wanted to sit down :( On top of that the heart monitor refused to work on me for the first few attempts. The lady said she never saw anyone have this much bad luck during an exam before.
Which sounds quite typical for me, I swear I’m cursed to constantly suffer these kinds of accidents.
Everything is going OK over here. We got a code yellow storm with code orange on the coasts, but I haven’t noticed much about it so far. Our weather service can sometimes be a bit overcautious.
Still, I hope the people on the coast will be OK.
For a moment there I thought I was looking at a !sciencememes@lemmy.world post and was taking this seriously :)
